Thanks for the reply! I searched the internet and found a good article to answer my question. Bottom line...I don't have to worry about the battery:

How about the 2nd 12V Outlet being located back in the luggage compartment! Yes! I know! Some people have uses for it!

I use an adapter cord with an ON/OFF toggle switch in the center console so I don't have remove the Radar Detector Cord.

For my Magellan GPS, I use a cord with a USB connector so I can plug it in USB port below the dash!
