I'm looking to buy an used cx-5 from 2016/2017 but I have some doubts regarding the technology difference between the two generations.
Apart from the external design and suspension improvement, and the that the car inside is more silent, what are other significant mechanical differences?
Here in Italy the price difference is around 3k Euro (15k vs 18k), this is why I want to understand if its worth the money to consider the newer version.

From a reliability pov, note that here all the SH are mandatory sold with 1/2 years waranty so I belive that if the car has any issues, most probable will come out soon after I buy it.

Please note that I'm referring to the Exceed 2.2 diesel 150/175 hp automatic version

the 16/17 time frame was when Mazda started using their own transmissions, an improvement over the Nissan transmission
they used in earlier vehicles. So go as late model as possible.
