2013 CX5 2.2D Loosing Coolant - Cause?
#12
Hi, no not yet unfortunately. I've searched for TSB's related to this issue but couldn't find anything. My next step is to get a local work shop to do TK test for me.
Another thought I had yesterday, was to check the automatic transmission cooler system. Wondering if there's a leak around there...

Team, update on this matter. The local mazda service team has had a second go at trying to diagnose the loss of coolant matter and I also replaced the egr cooler based on their recommendation from the first inspection. Now it seems as if mazda NZ believe my hypothesis that this is a compromised head gasket. To which they have agreed to change out at no cost to myself! So the vechile is booked in next week to have the head gasket changed out.
It was the only next logical item that can be causing the issue.
I will report back when the job is done with a conclusion.
It's also worthwhile noting Mazda NZ have been very good to deal with thus far!

Hi, for those of you who are interested. This issue has finally been resolved. Mazda NZ came to the party and had the local service center remove my engine to replace the head gasket. When they pulled the head off they could see no. 3 cylinder had signs of radiator fluid leaking and the piston had scored the bore. Therefore they replaced the entire engine (long block). So problem solved and I'm happy with the outcome.
Mazda NZ were very good to deal with, very practical and no push back what so ever.

Blown head gadget in 2015 diesel cx5
our problems with a blown head gasket have also been resolved by Mazda Te Puke putting in a new engine with no quibbles.....still not sure of the cause of the problem at 107000 km but Mazda accepted it was a known fault....
So far so good....fingers crossed
