2015 CX-5 Liftgate switch
Greetings all. Have a CX-5 with a lift gate opening switch that always unlocks the liftgate- even after the system has locked all the other doors. Thought it might be the lift gate lock actuator assembly until I removed the covers & realized there is nothing mechanical to lock. Instead, it appears the switch over the license place is supposed to be disabled when the CX-5 is locked. Not the case. The car is secure & I hit the rear lift gate switch & the lift gate opens every time even when the car is locked.
The new actuator did the same thing. Tried looking for a schematic on All Data with no luck.
Background? 50 years in almost every form of electrical engineering outside of nuclear. I can read a schematic- just can't find one detailed that shows the inside of the RCBM module. suspect it might be proprietary.
Anyone else have this issue? Thanks.

Better Diagram
Found a different schematic. Would appear the RCBM module on the left side of the luggage compartment is commanded by the two system data lines to disable the Lifegate Opener Switch. Doing this is the same as locking the lift gate by either removing power to the switch or simply ignoring the switch when trying to energize the actuator by engaging the switch. The problem could be a decoding error or driver problem in the RCBM or perhaps whatever generates the "word" or code to "lock" the liftgate.

Once you lock the vehicle, where is the remote when you go to check the tailgate?
Standard function is when the vehicle recognises the key/remote in your pocket and will unlock the tailgate to add opening and loading your shopping bags.

First rule of problem solving: define the problem & see if there is
really a problem.... oops
Don't I feel stupid, the fob was in my pocket. This is my wife's car.
Just went out without the fob & voila! Grim Reaper...you fixed it.
ROTFL
Had disabled the auto lock function after the wife told me she didn't
like the car locking itself. Assumed this also affected the liftgate.
Apparently not.
Broke one of my rules: never assume anything & RTFB- read the book.
Knew the door handles have a switch that I can depress to open the
doors. Just realized what the little button is to the right of the liftgate
switch- doesn't have the same function.
Thanks Grim Reaper.
