2016 or 2021 for comfort

How long have you had the car for?

Most-comfortable car seats I have ever driven in? Rock-hard Recaro something-or-other, in a mid-'80s Porsche 928. Drove hours in the thing. Felt great.
Next most-comfortable seating, after that: a carved old growth tree that was, well, hard as old growth heartwood. Sat in that park sitting on that bench for much of the morning, hour after hour.
But in each case, there was full-length upper leg support (almost right up to the back of the knee), and there was a perfect shape to the seat bottom, lumbar, back and (in the car) bolsters. So that, even "rock hard" they were extremely comfortable for hours.
Have a 2016 CX-5 GT, now. Wish the seats were a bit firmer, but the support of the upper leg is pretty good and the bolsters and lumbar are fairly supportive but not "pinching." Planning to swap out the driver's seat in the next year to a Recaro Ergomed ES, actually. The padding will be quite a bit firmer, but the overall leg support, shape and fit will be a great improvement.
IMO, seating is a lot like bike saddles. Everyone's bum is different.

I rarely check this board or post here, BUT if you really want to see a discussion on the newer CX-5 seat comfort, visit the''mazda247" website for ALOT of discussion on that subject and on Mazda's. A lot of people are not aware of that site but it's full of information and is well moderated with a good group of members. Check it out, it could save you money and answer your questions.
