2016 CX5 2.5L High Pressure Fuel Pump
#11
Little update to close this one out. I replaced the HPFP last night and aside from the space being very tight, it went alright. I did reuse the fuel pipe so we’ll see if that comes back to bite me. One thing I ran into was I had no way to torque the fuel pipe nut back down. Unless you have an open-ended torque wrench setup there’s almost no way to properly torque it. I tried crows feet sockets but the drive portion is under the pump body so there’s no way to get an extension or ratchet head on it once it’s on the nut. Overall, I fixed the problem for about $1000 less than the dealer quoted and for now I have no leaks and the CEL is gone.

Having the same issue on my 2016 cx5, I am reading this forum and noticing you're saying 90 degrees past TDC, is that 90 degrees in relation to the pulley itself? or 90 degrees in timing? I'm fairly fuzzy on this part the rest I am confident on.
