Default 2016 CX5 Navigation

I recently got the '16 CX5 GT with Nav Package. Unfortunately I don't see real time traffic information. Is this something that has always been the case like in 2015s as well? I spoke to Sirius and they said that the CX5 radio does not support real time traffic. Let me know if anyone has more information on this.

I will try to get you an answer later today. I have had my car a week and still no XM radio has been activated when I'm suppose to have 6 months free. I will be going to the dealer today to make sure this gets added!

The older navigation systems (the one's in 15s) do have real time traffic apparently. Let me know what you find out.

I have had mine for about 1.5 weeks and I'm trying to figure out traffic as well. XM/Sirius confirmed they do not offer the traffic service to this vehicle. I am planning to contact the dealer for input, but thought I would check here first in case anyone has figured it out.

Another issue I notice with navigation is that the manual indicates it should show the speed limit sign all the time on the left of the screen for roads that it's supported on, but the only time I see it is when a traffic camera is detected. Anyone else?

Thanks!

I'm able to view the speed limits on freeways and major city roads. I didn't have to activate/enable this so not sure how to go about it.

Thanks...I'm dropping mine off at the dealer tomorrow and leaving it for a week while I'm out of the country. I'll report back with what I find out about traffic and how the enable my speed limit indicator.

OK, I just confirmed with my dealership after they engaged Mazda that the real-time traffic feature on the 2016 models has been discontinued. This is due to licensing agreements with TomTom and Mazda has opted to cancel the service. They are apparently engaged in negotiations with another company to provide navigation for future vehicles, but I don't have the details on that.

My dealer provided a number for contacting a Mazda Rep (800-222-5500) if we wish to voice concerns or possibly be counted for future notice of any changes toward this issue.

This is odd. My 2016 GT w/o nav shows it. It's under "Apps" > "HD Radio Traffic"

Or do you mean specifically when navigating?

That's because you car is "Nav Ready" All you have to do is add the SD card into the reader and it will work. You can purchase a Nav SD card here:

I knew that... just saying that my 2016 has realtime traffic even though his dealer told him that Mazda took it away on the 2016s.

Edit - and I've found that same SD card for much cheaper than $350.
