Default 2016 Mazda Infotainment system voice directions

Other systems that I have used when music or the radio is playing and the navigation systems voice directions come on the other application is muted so one can hear the voice directions. Not so with Mazda, hence the directions cannot be clearly heard. Am I missing something? Is there some way to prevent this?

I assume you have MZD connect? The navigation is played thru the drivers door speaker, make sure the navigation volume is turned up in the MZD settings.

I guess I do, its a GT, it's loud enough when no music is playing but the music doesn't cut out and drowns out the navigation.

Try to turn the volume up when the GPS voice is speaking. The volume dial should switch from controlling the volume of the music to GPS.

When I first got my current Mazda, I couldn't hear her as well. I kept turning the volume down thinking I was quieting the radio.

The other option is to go through settings and adjust the GPS volume up as mentioned earlier.
