So, this might just be a case of me misunderstanding but all the reading I did indicated that the 2018 CX5 GT had ADD.

So I picked one up yesterday and have just now realized that nope, hardware not installed and not available in settings.

Is there an alternative way to show digital MPH on the gauges somewhere, or can an ADD unit be added ?

 

Mine is 2017, so not sure if your gauges are the same as mine...but I have not found a way to get digital speedometer on the instrument cluster. Not all GTs for the 2017s have ADD. The car had to have a premium tech package. The rule of thumb I have found is if it has a heated steering wheel, it will have ADD. As far as adding it...it would be an incredible pain in the azz. You would need an entire new dash...its cut out to accept the ADD...plus the ADD unit itself. It would probably cost a ton. There could be some aftermarket units you could look in to. Also, some GPS units will display current speed as well speed limit. I can tell you that the factory ADD is freaking awesome though.
