Question 2019 CX-5 Diesel - Repairs/Parts Concerns for this Short-Lived Car

Looked at a 2019 CX-5 Diesel yesterday that's an excellent deal for a Signature package, but of course it's the diesel model. Seems like this is a good car sold at the wrong price to the wrong market at the wrong time. Salesman told me that Mazda is no longer selling it, having sold it for less than a year.

What would you all expect in terms of repair troubles going forward? I would worry that such a rare car will have few parts and it may be difficult to get repairs going forward. Is that a legit concern? I wouldn't want to wait a long time or pay a ton more for repairs while parts get shipped from overseas. Would it help if the dealer throws in an extended warranty?

Any and all feedback is appreciated.

How long would you plan to keep it for? Extended warranty would be a positive.

It has been heavily de-tuned from the Japanese / Australian spec models.Purely to meet California emissions.

How much cheaper than a similar spec'd petrol model is it?

I would plan to keep it for a good while - 7+ years, ideally longer. Though I can't be certain, of course.

What do you mean by 'de-tuned.' Less power?

Similar spec'd petrol with similar mileage is typically ~$33-34k. This is $29k.

Many thanks for your input here.

Australian spec 140kw ( 187hp) 450Nm torque

USA spec 125kw ( 168hp) 290nm torque

Not a huge drop in horsepower, but a massive reduction in torque.
