2019 CX-5 GTR (Turbo) MPG Report
Hello! On my 3500+ miles round trip to Arizona in my wife's GTR, I averaged 25+ mpg. In IL, MO, OK, TX, and AZ, I averaged 24+ mpg. In NM, where the lowest grade is 86, I filled her up with the mid grade which is 88 Octane. I averaged 26+ mpg considering there was a nasty wind hitting the front left side of the car as I drove on I-40. On my drive back, I averaged 31+ on I-40 in NM due to tail wind! Note that my wife's GTR just had 1,024 miles on it when I started my trip.
My driving style on highway: Manual mode on 6th gear with the adaptive cruise control set at 5 over the limit IL and MO highway limits are 65 or 70, OK is 70 or 75, TX, NM, AZ have 75.
I used to drive a 2017 CX-5 GT AWD (non-turbo) and a 2019 CX-5 GT AWD (non-turbo) on this route and with these non-turbu's I averaged 28+ mpg.
In my opinion, upgrading to a turbo was worth it.
