Default 2019 CX5 Diesel can be preordered

deliveries start in June and can be ordered with a $500 refundable deposit, only in signiture trim, it has a 3500 pound towing capacity, that is why I am thinking about it, any thought on its possible reliability issues?

Don't know about reliability but I used to own a VW TDI which I enjoyed very much. However, after the diesel scandal, I am not looking back to diesel again.

Pricing seems to make no sense at all. $4,000 premium over the 2.5T Sig, for less torque and less hp, with minuscule improvement in fuel efficiency? I don't get their thinking........

Most diesel cars are a lot pricier than gas models. You'd have to do a lot of driving to make up the difference, not worth it for me.

True, but most diesel cars offer some significant advantage to go along with that higher price. Either much better torque output or significantly better fuel mileage. This Mazda offers neither.
