2021 CX-5 GTR Oil Filter

Yes it fits fine. Doesn't contact the plastic cover.
The older (these days) 3593A is fatter but not as tall as the 7317. Not sure of
that one would fit.
Autos that USED to be spec'd for the 3593A are now listed with the 7317.
Easier to find.

While you Gentlemen are on this subject, may I ask if there are any opinions among you on the EZ Drain Valve? Or the Fumoto? Or any such device?
Also, I assume the CX-5 comes std (haven't looked yet) with the auto trans pan with no drain hole and plug. Any reason I should NOT install an aftermarket pan WITH
a drain built in?
Thank you, Reuben

IMHO and recommendation DO NOT USE those valves. It is bad enough that almost ALL oil pans because of the bung weld will accumulate oil that cannot be drained. Stay with conventional drain plugs. In fact I highly recommend the use of a DIMPLE DRAIN PLUG

If needed I can split the case so you can see the inside?
Just request and I will oblige!

I've used the Femco system for many years going back to my '94 Z-28. Much less mess when draining old oil. This is currently on my '16 Ram and '04 Malibu. The Fumoto sticks out too much from my opinion and was always afraid of it tearing off if I accidentally ran over something.
