These would work if they were installed in pans that the bung was welded to the outside of the pan and when installed no threads protrude up into the pan itself. Unfortunately, most pans have internal welded buns and the use of drain valve leaves far to much oil and also contributes to a sludge at the bottom of the pan. If you even contact Fumoto they will also have this information.

Dennis: Thank you. That is a refreshing change from 95% of Cars that come with a pan with no drain so you can spill trans fluid all over the place.

Thank you Sojourner. I can see that the Fumoto is a couple inches long (I guess) and understand your concern.

That would be 'kinda bad' if one ripped off their oil drain plug after hitting a pothole or whatever. Not a good thing.

I finally looked at your thread on the Mazda 3 site. That is amazing stuff!! And I haven't even finished yet.

You are the kind of guy who goes into the bathroom, sits for a few minutes, and comes out with a homemade 'Neutron Bomb'.

My hat is off to you. Hope I can turn to you with some incredibly simple projects for your advice.

Thank you for the link. I will be going back there again. Thanks, Reuben

I noted you painted your new set of brake calipers RED on a copy of The Epoch Times. At the risk of insult to you, or other denizens of this Site, I have to
complement you on your choice of 'rags' to cover in red spray paint. I use my "Epoch Times' to wrap fish that has gone bad and deposit in the can.

If someone actually spends their time reading The Epoch Times, well, that is interesting. Thank you, Reuben

I don't actually read or subscribe to any newspaper or magazine. The newspaper my neighbor brings all his to me after he is done with them. He knew years ago I am always painting something LOL

The drain plugs and oil pan for the Skyactiv engine (not sure about diesel) should be M18x1.5x12 .
