Just curious , did you trade for a 2023 cx5, how much did it cost to trade the 2022 cx5 in ? How much did you loose ?

nothing, got free money actually. Most used cars you can sell to carmax for thousands more than you owe. I got a 3,000 dollar check to put towards another one. Didn't care for the CX50, just got a higher end model CX5

I've been at the dealer level (just not Mazda). I probably would have kicked this out the door as being normal as well. Drive it around the block.. feels fine, get the next car) Mazda must be real strict on replacing parts as well. Living with a vehicle, driving it for more than 5 minutes, you can tell there is something wrong. Having the seat a at the lower end of the hight adjustment masked things quite a bit.

Let me get this straight , you didn't loose any money over what you paid for the 2022 CX5 with the issue ? How is that possible ? New 2023 CX5's with zero miles are selling below msrp right now .

Well, we didn't loose any money on the trade in, as in negative equity. Technically, you always loose money on a car because they depreciate. Used car values have gone down since a year ago though. I got like, 5000 over what I Owed before I got the Mazda when I did the same thing with my previous Chevrolet Spark. (owed 13000, got 18000 on a 2021 in 2022)

Carmax pays WAY more than traditional dealers for used cars.

What I want to know is what did it cost you from what you PAID for the 2022 CX5 , Forget about anything else. For instance if you paid $34000.00 for the 2022 CX5 what did Carmax give for it in real money $$$$$ ? Not interested in what you owed . Looking for the real cost in dollars from what you paid for the 2022 cx5 to the cash money carmax paid you for it .

Of corse I didn’t get all of my money back. We had the car for a year. I believe we got the CX5 for 30,000 total in April of last year, got 27,000 from carmax so, 3000 went to car payments in a year.
