2918 CX-5 GTR (Turbo) Performance Report
Wow! What a big difference in performance. I negotiated all the hills in MO, NM, and AZ without shifting down. As I have mentioned somewhere in this CX-5 forum, I commute through IL, MO, OK, TX, NM, and AZ (sometimes in CO), and on highways, I drive on manual mode at 6th gear and set my adaptive cruise control 5 over the highway speed limit. With the CX5 GT (non-turbo) I used to shift down to 5th and sometimes to 4th and maybe 3rd and rev the engine high, especially on that long stretch of incline on I-17 in AZ. With the 2019 GTR (turbo), I did not have to shift at all. It maintained the set cruising speed all the time! What a pleasure to drive and leaving behind those that are shifting down to lower gears and having their engines rev up to red-line to keep up with the traffic. To me, it was worth upgrading my wife's 2019 CX-3 GT AWD to 2019 CX-5 GTR AWD, and my 2019 CX-5 GT AWD (non-turbo) to 2019 CX-5 GTR AWD (turbo).
I will probably drive to Colorado next month and I'll see how my GTR will perform there.
Guys, the title of the thread is supposed to be "2019CX-5 GTR (Turbo) Performance Report". Will the Forum Admin change this, please? Thank you.

I have been filling her up with 87 in the Mid-West (USA). I only fill her up with 88 in NM, and maybe in CO, where the lowest grade is 86. I really have no problem with the 87 but I gain mpg and performance on the 88 in New Mexico! I think it's 227 HP and 310 LV-FT Torque with 87 gas and 250 HP and some LB-FT torque with premium gas. I chose 87 because of cost.
