Default AC/Heater Fan Problems

I have a 2016 CX-5 and am experiencing problems with the blower fan for the AC/Heater system. The blower fan turns on/off intermittently. The cooling and heating elements appear to be working, as when I switch to outside air while driving, the air flowing through the vents heats and cools. However, when I turn on the fan, it sometimes takes up to 5 minutes for the blower to kick in.

Any thoughts would be welcome.

You didn't mention if you're a DIYer, so if not then it's nothing but guesswork and you'll have to take it to a shop for diagnosis and repair.

However, if you are a DIYer, then try powering the blower motor directly from the battery using jumper wires. You should be able to either confirm the issue is with the blower motor, or rule it out, by powering it multiple times. If the blower tests ok, then the next thing to check would be the blower motor relay. You hope it's one of those 2 things, because it's quite a bit more difficult to diagnose the controller and all of the wiring/connectors associated with it.
