Advice on 2014/2015 Grand Touring
New member here – but not yet a CX-5 owner. Possibly In the market for a 2014 or 2015 CX-5 Grand Touring. Owner input is welcomed. Are you satisfied overall? Any known mechanical or electrical issues to be aware of? Any special considerations for AWD? Is the 2.5 liter enough if you need to get away from the pack on the interstate? I’ve read a few comments that interior noise is a little high.
All input is much appreciated!

I've been pleased with our 2014 GT. My wife is the primary driver, but we've taken it on several trips of a couple of hundred miles and I find it comfortable and while noisewise, it isn't a Benz, it is also not a problem. It's quieter than many cars I've had. Test drive one to make the determination. I would say that switching from the default Toyo tires to Goodyear Endurance eliminated most of the noise.
You won't win any drag races with it, but it is peppy and handles well on the expressway. I haven't had any problem keeping up with traffic or moving out of packs unless you get the guy in the Mustang 500 that just has to be next to someone. In that case, the brakes work well too.
My wife's prior car was an Outback with the six cylinder engine and she likes the CX5 better. We went with AWD because she tends to drive a lot in winter weather and she has had no problems.

Hello cc. No significant problems with my '14 GT. Minor irritants: can't fold the back seats flat, even after removing the head rests; and neither charger port has ever worked, from new. Not worth fussing about.
Overall, pleasant and reliable vehicle.

Have a 2014 GT. Enough power, when the revs are up passing cars no problem.
VVT cam comes on around 3000 rpm and it goes.
Only issue is rear brakes, slider pins were not lubricated properly from factory , leading to seized pads. Besides that a lot of wind noise.
Handles well.
