Default Blind Spot Monitor Issue

I have a ‘22 Signature with 10k miles. Twice in the last six months I got a warning on the dash that say “blind spot monitoring sensor(s) blocked”….. when it is not blocked by anything. Both times I was driving at 60+ mph on a bright sunny day. Has anyone else had this warning come on for no reason? If I shut the car off and restart it it usually clears the warning.

Happens to me too. I think it has to do with the angle of the sun. Considering there are no other factors it's the best explanation I can come up with.

This is one area of the CX-5 I just don't care for. Their lane keep assist is so weak it's useless, and their blind spot monitoring is way too sensitive and goes off for vehicles that are well behind you with plenty of room to move over.
