Hi, new guy here. Yesterday my wife & I bought a 2014 Mazda CX5 Grand Touring. Love it! Fund to drive. Quite a move up for us because we drove cheap little beaters for 40 years & it was time for something good, safe & reliable. Did tons of research before buying. I'll be dropping in now & then to learn all I can about taking good care of this vehicle & hopefully at some point I can contribute something useful. Saturday we plan to just get in & drive all day.

 

Congratulations! I've been driving Miatas since 2002, and my CX-5 is my first non-Miata Mazda. I'm hoping and expecting the CX-5 to be as reliable and enjoyable as my Miatas have been.

Thanks. I'll try to post a pic soon. Wife just took it to work. She loves it! Glad she's in something safer than our old Hyundai Accent now. I saw the government crash test results on it. Wow. But the CX5 aces the tests. When she gets home I'm taking it for a drive. We went 50/50 on the payments but it's really sort of hers. At some point in my future I'm hoping to get a Miata. Got the Accent for now.

 

Did you manage to get your Miata yet?

 

No, not sure if that will happen anytime soon. As of last week I now owe my dentist about $6K after insurance. I'm at the dealer right now, getting my first oil change at 8:00. Just over 3K miles. I love driving this! Going to walk around & look at Miatas now.
