Default Brake Piston turned many times with EPB

2016 CX-5 rear brake with EPB was turned many times (it was in maintenance mode) while applying pressure. When ordering parts do I just need the parking brake actuator or is the caliper most likely damaged also. The car is driving and breaking as it should but would like to get the parking break working again.

Best to remove the EPB and have a look inside, before taking a guess and ordering parts. I've read multiple reports from people who have made mistakes involving the EPB, and subsequently dis and reassembled the EBP/caliper, thereby resolving their vehicle's issue in the process. Not saying that would be the case with your particular problem, but if it can't be resolved as described above, you may at least be able to figure out what the damage is and what will be required to make the repair.

I was going to get into this past weekend but never had the chance. I seen there's a lot posts about it happening just wasn't finding many answers. Hope to get to it this week. Thanks for reaching out and I'll update once I know something.

Hi,

I’m having the same issue and was wondering if you ended up resolving your issue?

Thanks!

The poster you are asking hasn’t been back to the forum since he last posted in May 2022. He won’t see your question.
