Default BSM (Blind Spot Monitoring) Sensor replacement

Hi Forum Peeps,
My 2017 CX-5's left back bumper was hit, not very hard, but I guess hard enough to break the BSM. Mazda quoted me $2000 to replace them. Said they were $1000 each and if replacing one, you needed to replace both. However, they are not sold in a set
So I looked online and was able to find two sensors for a reasonable cost, but was informed that they were unable to use the sensors because they came from another CX-5.
I am assuming, these should be able to be synched with a new car would they not?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.. even if it is just backing up what Mazda has told me.

Thanks a bunch for your replies..

Shawn

You can fit 2nd hand sensors,( Mazda doesn't like using 2nd hand parts) however they need to be a matching pair and will require aligning by Mazda using specialised equipment.

In my RHD market, you can replace the LHS( passenger) by itself, but if you need to replace the RHS (drivers side), you must replace both.

Might be the reverse for LHD models, LHS being the Drivers side?????
