I purchased my new CX-5 in 2016. Over the past year the car display has randomly acted out. but lately, the frequency has increased. I took a 3 min video last week and recorded it bouncing around 27 times between the setting and navigation options. It has done everything from changing my display lights setting and flipping the radio stations to calling numbers on my contact list. I contacted the dealership today and they said try taking out the navigation SD card. I don't want to lose the navigation option BUT I don't want to lose $500 plus to get this resolved! Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

 

Sometimes, these electronic issues can be resolved by disconnecting the battery for about fifteen minutes. After disconnecting it, push the brake pedal and hold it for about ten seconds to drain any remaining charge in the system. If that doesn't work, you have more serious problems than the computer getting confused.

 

Try popping out the SD card also. It would tell you if that is the cause of the problem. Troubleshooting electrical gremlins is tough. Good luck.

 

As your dealer and AZCX5 stated. Remove the Nav card (while the car is off) and see what happens. If all your problems go away this is diagnostic and shows that most likely the issues are being caused by the Nav card or the connections between the card and the infotainment system. If the problems persists then at least you eliminated the Nav card as a possible cause.
