Does cargo mat muffle Bose subwoofer?
2024 CX-5 Turbo with Bose system. I installed the Caresa Cargo Liner (TPE - rubber-ish plastic) and I have a sense that the Bose spare tire well subwoofer is not a "punchy" as before, but it could be my imagination. Has anyone else noted any change in sound with a cargo mat installed and, if so, what Bass setting did you find most helpful?

Any added layer of material between you and your audio system speakers will impact the sound of said hardware, including a subwoofer.
Noticing any difference depends on the hearing abilities of the individual who is listening.
With your hearing you detected a difference which likely means there is a difference.
If you are so inclined, you can measure the decibel levels to give you a definitive scientific answer.
But you must use the exact same audio format/music track and volume setting.

Regarding woofers and sub woofers. Generally, it is the tone that changed which non-audiophiles call muffled. Also, BOSE system in any vehicle is specifically designed which includes how the frequencies are adjusted to the exact interior with no mats, factory or aftermarket.
