Customize automatic door lock settings:
Select SETTINGS from the Home screen.
Select VEHICLE tab.
Select Door Lock.
Select your desired settings.
Select Keyless Lock Beep Volume, select to set volume at High, Medium, Low or Off.
Select Door Relock Time, select to set automatic relocking at 90, 60 or 30 seconds.
Select Unlock Mode to select your desired settings.

Congratulations on your new CX-5 purchase. Take some time and play with all the settings and see what they do and what works best for you. There are numerous door lock settings. I have my Mazda3 set to lock when I put it in drive and unlock when I put it in park. I also have it set to lock the doors when I walk away from the vehicle.
In settings, under vehicle select door locks. Mine has 5 options. "Auto Door Lock Mode" is what you use to define what happens while you are driving and "Walk Away Lock" is how I set it to lock the car when I walk away after parking. (I work in a bad neighborhood).
In "Auto Door Lock Mode", I have 5 options. I use "Lock Out of Park: Unlock in Park". I think you want "Lock When Driving". I am not sure exactly what this does but it sounds like it does what you want - give it a try.
I like the "Unlock in Park" since it makes it easy to unlock the doors for passengers when I am dropping them off. They should not be opening the doors until I stop and put the car in park anyway.
Good luck and take the time to try out all of the options. It is frustrating to find years later that you could have had a car set up better from the beginning.
