Default Drivers seat

My neighbor just got a 2023 CX50 preferred plus and i had a chance to drive it to the Casino . It seams to have more comfortable seats than my 2023 CX5carbon edition . I like the overall ride and handling of the CX5 better ,but the seats in the CX50 are more comfortable . Why would Mazda use different seats in the CX50 ? Both are some sort of animal hide/leather ,but the CX50 feels a bit softer and more comfortable in the seat and seat back.

How is the seam running down the middle of the cushion? Some have commented on that being quite uncomfortable. I can understand using different seats the each vehicle, the image Mazda wants for the CX-50 is more lifestyle than luxury compared to the CX-5.

Why would Mazda use a different seat in the CX-50? It has been one of the biggest complaints about the CX-5, so why not take the opportunity to rectify the issue?

Thanks, Chief . . . I'll look forward to trying out a CX-50! It's good to see that Mazda recognizes the CX-5 seats don't please everyone.

Cool

Perhaps, but a better sign of recognition would be to actually fix the seats in their top-selling model.

That would be the answer to increase sales and keep CX5 customers happy and coming back to Mazda for future vehicles. If it is a cost issue ,charging a few dollars more for a better/more comfortable seat would not hurt sales ,and more than likely not cast more than $25.00 a vehicle. I don't know why Mazda would just not use the same seat from the CX50 for the CX5 . The seats in the CX5 look great, they should also feel great too.

You and I think alike on that. But having lived in Japan for a few years (many years ago), I learned that Japanese approach life very differently than Americans. Go figure.

According to Mazda they did make changes to the seats for 2022. I have yet to drive one so I don't know if they are any better.
