Default ECM problem. Error log in post.

Hey everyone.

Recently bought a 2016 CX-5 2.2 disel. I have a few problems as the DTC error log shows after scan with Forscan.

injectors on cyl 2 and 3 are not working, alot of waring lights in the dashboard.
I am lost about what the issue could be. Are there any known problems that might cause this? Or simply defected ECU? Would really appreciate if someone could help out.

U codes are predominately communication errors, and usually not a concern. As long as the battery is fully charged and in tip top condition, clear the codes and move on.

What, if any issues are you having with the vehicle?

Battery fully charged.

Injectors on cyl 2 and 3 are not working. Abs, TPMS, anti skid, and other lights are popping up in the dashboard and throttle is barely working since the car is in limp mode. As soon as the car hits about 2000rpms all lights cone on again after I have deleted them.

One simple thing to try is to disconnect the negative cable on the battery, get in the car and press and hold the brake pedal for about 15 seconds, then wait 10 minutes and reconnect the battery. Sometimes, the ECU and other computerized modules get confused and have to be rebooted. Reconnect the negative battery cable after the time is up and see if things have improved. If not, there is a deeper problem here.

Tried that and made no difference.

What I dont get is why only injectors on cyl 2 and 3 would not work if this was the case but 1 and 4 are working.

According to P2150 wich I get now it is COM 2 +B short +B short upstream of cylinders no. 2, 3 injector circuit. Checked out the wiring and they are all good and in perfect condition.

Found this PDF wich is fantastic going through this electrical sh*t.

DTC P2150:00
Fuel injector No.2 and No.3 circuit low input

DETECTION CONDITION •
When the following condition is met, the PCM detects the control current at fuel injectors No.2 and No.3 as exceeding 35 A4 times or control voltage at fuel injectors No.2 and No.3 as 40 V or less 4 times:
MONITORING CONDITIONS― Battery voltage: more than 8 VDiagnostic support note
• This is an intermittent monitor (fuel system).
• The check engine light illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.
• FREEZE FRAME DATA/Snapshot data is available.
• DTC is stored in the PCM memory.

FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION
• PCM restricts engine torque.
• Inhibits the EGR control.
• Inhibits the diesel particulate filter regeneration control.
• Inhibits engine-stop by operating the i-stop function.
• PCM restricts engine-transaxle integration control.

POSSIBLE CAUSE
• Fuel injector No.2 connector or terminals malfunction
• Fuel injector No.3 connector or terminals malfunction
• Short to ground in wiring harness between the following terminals:― Fuel injector No.2 terminal A—PCM terminal 1CW
― Fuel injector No.2 terminal B—PCM terminal 1CT
― Fuel injector No.3 terminal A—PCM terminal 1DA
― Fuel injector No.3 terminal B—PCM terminal 1CS• PCM connector or terminals malfunction
• Fuel injector No.2 malfunction
• Fuel injector No.3 malfunction
• PCM malfunction

Each injector has a unique ID code. Have they been removed? Swapped around or replaced?

Do you have access to a scan tool that can re-programme the injectors to the PCM?

I swapped them, reprogrammed and made no difference. But I am having mechanic check it out as we speak. Error changed from P2150 to 2151 but other than that, same faults.

All wires appear to be good so I will order a PCM and hope that will take care of the problem.

We have been working on it for about 6 hours now, all wires seems to be good, all signals correct. Will order a pre-owned PCM and than see what happens.

DTC P2151:00

Fuel injector No.2 and No.3 circuit high input

Try swapping #1 & #2 injectors, along with swapping #3 & #4 injectors. ( followed by reprogramming injectors to changed cylinder )

Clear the codes. Start it up, If you get DTC P2148 or P2147, this will indicate your original # 2 & 3 injectors are faulty
