Nothing works for me, it seems like the hole is too small. My one is the 2013 2.5L

Is it my imagination, or do the anchors loosen up some with age and usage?

It's my wife's car . She is taking it in today for a few things and they are going to repalce the mat under warranty . It looks like the rubber mat is sandwiched between these two rubber grommets or washers which together snap over the post . The grommets apparently are glued to either side of the mat and on her car , the top grommet has come free from the mat. My fear is that as the car gets older , more plastic grommets are going to come free from the mats and get lost in the process of removing for washing, etc .
All in all, a dumb design !

Good observation. If that's common, could result in recall (similar to Toyota / Lexus )

I just put in my All-Weather Mats last night and really didn't have much trouble. I held down the anchor with some needle nose and pulled the each side of the mat up. Didn't really need to apply much force to do it.

I'm sure that works but since when did car owners have to use a set of pliers to get their floor mats out ? Thank you plaintiff's bar !

Not intending to hijack but has anyone tried the Weather-Tech liners? A little (actually, a lot) pricey but it seems like they would cover the area and protect nicely.
