Default Heat from vents when system is off

My CX5 has warm air coming from the vents even when the system is off... It was ok in the colder weather but not so great as Summer is getting closer- Is this normal or do I need to take it in?

Thanks !

oh no.
I may have the same problem when I drive longer distances (>15 miles). I noticed this in the winter, but I did not worry about it then. I have not driven much so far this spring, so I need to see if this still happens.
Please let me know if you take the car in for service and what they tell you.
TIA

When you have warm air coming out, what was the temp set at prior to turning it off? If the temp was set to warm, it will still allow warm air to flow thru when travelling.

My 2016.5 CX-5 still has a slight amount of airflow even when the fans are off, while driving. Setting the temperature dial alters how warm that airflow is.

Try turning on the fan, adjusting the temp dial down to the lowest temp setting, then turning off the fan. I'll bet you will find the temperature of the airflow will be noticeably lower, even when the fans are off.

The temp setting is typically around 71 degrees and rarely changes. I will check in the coming days. I would hate having to convince the Service manager that there is a problem which they will probably deny exists.

It's the climate control system trying to match the temperature it was last set even when it's off, which in my opinion is really unnecessary and stupid. If the system is off the air coming into the cabin should be unmodified from outside. You'll have to turn on the temp settings, turn down the target temp, and then turn the system back off again.

Yes this is correct, I called my dealer who had no idea but I tested this by turning the temp way down and the air was now cold. Thank you for the hint !
