Question Hitch receiver size 2" or 1.25"?

I am looking to install a hitch on 2016 Mazda CX-5. My main reason for now is to be able to pull trailer hitch from Home Depot to transport some mulch and dirt etc (for a landscaping project) and also for bike rack (2 bikes). I scrolled through recent threads to see if anyone had a similar question but couldn't find anything so I thought I would ask.

Is one size better than the other, 2" versus 1.25"? Is 2" even worth paying more for? I am not even sure if a CX-5 has the ability to pull more than 4000 pounds. I will probably never use it for pulling a boat or an RV. May be a small on road tiny-trailer once or twice a year.

thanks in advance,

I believe that the 2" will allow for less slop/wiggle for your future bike rack, if that is important to you.
