A bit of an accomplishment for myself. I usually keep a car 4-5 years. Currently, I have no need or want to get rid of my CX-5. Although, that might be different if market were friendlier.
My CX-5 is at 53k miles and still runs great. I've had a couple of batteries replaced (under warranty). At about 51k I had the pully-tensioner and drive belt replaced. Transmission, rear differential and coolant fluids all replaced at 45k. Still getting decent mpg of 25-30.
I'm still smitten with the looks of the CX-5. I still think it's one of the top 5 best looking vehicles you can buy at any price. The fact Mazda waited until '22 to do a slight refresh, is a testament to the design.
Overall, this has been the best vehicle I've ever owned.

Mazda is also the number 1 brand in Consumer Reports 2020 for reliability. And it's well deserved. Nowadays, you can't go wrong with a Mazda. They're practical, stylish, and comfortable. With a bit of sportiness and luxury thrown in for good measure.

 

We are at 4+ years and same observation here, very satisfied so far...

 

I bought a new CX-5 GT a year ago, have put about 9,000 miles on the car, and I'm very happy with it. We leave Monday a 1,800-mile drive from South Florida to Maine, and I'm looking forward to it. We average 30+ MPG on the road, and today's high fuel prices make me appreciate the CX-5 even more. As a thank-you to the car, I had it detailed yesterday so it seems like new. Best addition: gas struts to hold the hood open. My least favorite part of the car: the seats are a far cry from the comfort of my previous ride, a Lexus ES-350, but I see no easy answer to fixing that.

Have a 2016.5 CX-5 GT AWD, here. Purchased at 79K miles, have done the serpentine/accessory belt and tensioner, the spark plugs, all the fluids, and the front brakes; rear brakes soon. Otherwise, it's been nearly error-free. (A minor glitch with the boot-up sequence of the console, over the more-humid months, which I suspect is a humidity-related issue with wiring contacts.)

Approaching 100Kmi, so considering going through the suspension to replace any worn components, focusing on the tie rods/ends, ball joints, bushings. Will evaluate all the engine bay "rubber" hoses and fittings, given the age. Will go through the car and re-tighten any bolts/nuts needing it. More out of peace of mind than it specifically needing anything.

A fairly reliable design, overall.

 

What struts did you use on your CX-5? I've got a '16 Tour and, I agree on the seats, I'm pretty happy with it but I don't like the "headache sick" hood prop.

 

I have a 2018 CX-5 Sport that just passed 90k miles and it runs great. Only had drive belt and breaks and rotors replaced.

 

Here's the hood strut package from Amazon that I installed on my 2021 CX-5. It was an easy install and the struts are still working great--so nice not to have to stop and prop up the hood.

I added the Redline hood struts and very impressed with them.

Just finished first year with our 2021 GTR. Very happy with the car. Agree the seats could be better, but acceptable even on long trips. Have 12,700 miles on it now. Ave 25 mpg, which is good for a turbo. Love the way it drives and very good looking car, inside and out.
