My liftgate is stuck closed - is there anything I can do to manually open it?

Car is off , in park, tried using door lock and keyless entry. Checked inside to ensure nothing was caught in it. It just won't open.

Read your owners manual, there is a manual release fitted. Should be a plastic cap/cover on the interior tailgate trim, open that and there should be a mechanical release.

 

Thanks - I did read that thread before posting - it's how I found this forum

Crawled inside and opened it via manual release - still won't work on the automatic though - guess it's time to visit Mazda.

Love the CX-5 - just wish it would tow more.
