That makes two of us...
Plus the last idiot that pulled out in front of me (3 years ago now) really messed up my knee and back making riding a pian enduring adventure.
An adventure I would now readily accept at least once a week if not for my "family's values".
I owned a K1200GT for several years but once the major component replacements came due (shocks, etc.) it was cheaper to buy a new Ducati.

I am not sure how I would feel or what I will feel when my day comes, I can't ride? About the only thing I accepted not to do anymore from family pressure was dive alone.

Fishing was my second one, but because of the back and knee I can no longer get my boat on or off the trailer by myself which ended with me selling that last year.
I can at least still rent one, my fishing buddies never bought any they always went with me in my boat.
But at $275 a day, plus fuel rental fee and me being retired, I don't do that very often.
Luckily, I still enjoy driving the CX-5 and can still get in and out of it, plus I have my home music studio and video gaming room.

You motorcycle riding was my passion and I had to give it up 3 years ago along with any thoughts of replacing motorcycles low-slung sports cars.

Causes, Motorcycle crashes.(not racing and not by me ) well one I was sort of going 130 entering the corkscrew in SantCruz Ca... LOL, Car crashes (not racing and not caused by me ) and not my fault) and parachuting... well depends on how you look at the cause. I volunteered for a lot of things.

I miss that feeling you can only get on a bike. Your never going to get that tingle where you feel like your flying and every cell in your body and brain is vibrating and firing 100%. And you feel like your defying gravity . While I do appreciate my family's view of my situation and well being ,I do feel some what cheated out of the excitement and thrills. I have decided it's better to take it easy and stay out of hospital and go easy . There is just something about the feel, sound, and G's of going fast on 2 or 4 wheels that is so seductive . These are the things you miss as the clock starts to run out on you I guess. I'm off to the desert to fry out some new 10mm and 460 Rowland hand loads . The weather is too nice to stay in and bang on a keyboard.

Hahahahaha.
I mounted my old video camera on the handlebars (with battery and recorder in my backpack - heh, I said it was old).
Then I did one of my weekend runs of 80mph plus rides around the local snowmobile trails one summer on XL350R.
My mistake was my wife found and watched the video.
I had no explanation for why I was riding so fast on a 4ft wide trail with trees on either side, nor could I account for the seconds long clips showing nothing but blue sky and a few clouds.
Luckily all off-road "misadventures" were forgotten when she found one of my SV1000S track day videos...possibly because I had "unwilfully neglected" to tell her I was doing track days
At least that's my version of what happened and I'm sticking to it.
