Default MZD connected services

Am I right to say that to have live traffic updates with the new MZD I will need to have Wi-Fi hotspot [ie a smart phone]

According to this Mazda website a mobile hotspot or a phone with hotspot is required for this to work.

Form everything I've found so far, the connected services are not being offered in the US (with the new MZD systems, not the old Tom Tom based systems)? My dealer told me that the live traffic was included, but it appears as though that is incorrect. Apparently the live traffic was offered with the Tom Tom systems, and when Mazda switched to the new systems there was some contractual conflict where they could not offer the live traffic with the new system.

Smile Live Traffic Updates...

Do you have a independent GPS that'll "LTU"? My "Garmin" GPS gives me "live traffic updates" without problems when traveling.
