Navigation map install
Hi all.. I know my Mazda dealer sat
us to just use CarPlay instead of the nav system but I want to see if adding the card gets me some of the heads up,display back rather than just speed limit (not an upgrade in the new Mazdas in my opinion. I have a compatible SD card, do I just put it in a card reader, go the Mazda website and look for that map update?
cheers, Greg

Yep- if you have the correct card- just install and it will do its thing. You need to drive with it for a bit so it locks to the car before you can use Mazda Toolbox on your computer to update it.

Hi everyone - on a related theme - I have just acquired a 2014 CX5 and typically there is no maps SD card in the slot.
If I were to buy a genuine Mazda TomTom maps SD card off eBay, (seen a few for same years as car) can I use this and update the maps via Mazda website, as you have described?
Many thanks
Andy

If you're seeing a compass that means that your nav card is not working or it's not being detected by the system. The only way that I can see a compass on my system is if I remove the nav card.

$55 for a new Mazda nav card from ebay (navking). Drive your car 62 miles with that card installed, then remove the card and update it with the Toolbox. It will work properly and be registered with Mazda for 3 years of free updates.
