The emergency braking had a couple of hick ups in the Acura too, it would sometimes activate when a car was turning into a street to the right side. I had plenty of room to go around them, but it would stab the brakes sometimes and I would be thinking, what just happened??? I am not a fan of these new "safety" systems in general. The only one I really like is blind spot monitoring.

I was just going to say if it had a couple different modes (as well as the ability to be turned off) that would seem to be the best option to me.

I disagree that's necessarily a "good design." That adds complexity, which adds breaking points and increases the chances of bugs, etc.

It's often really "bad design" in fact for software developers to just create settings for everything. Sometimes there's elegance in making a good choice and saying "here you go, here's the feature."

It works a bit different in EU. It can keep you relatively centered in the lane.

That's how it works in 2018 Mazda 6:

I don't think that would work here in the U.S. I can't try it because I don't have an interstate with almost no traffic. I can't tell, but are you bouncing back and forth between the lines?

No. There are two options for intervention. Early and late. If you select late, it will only apply torque when you are about to leave lane. But if you selet early, it will try to center you between lines.

I don't know why, but Mazda is removing some features from its cars in U.S. I believe U.S also can't get the matrix leds.

I just checked, my 2020 doesn't have the early late settings options.

Yeah I just looked and my 2021 GT's only options for lane keep assist are on and off. That's a bummer one of my few disappointments in this car is the LKA is nowhere near as good as my 2018 Sonata.
