Default The Orange Wrench on dashboard.

Hi All,

I'm having some trouble with the sound system in my 2021 CX-5 (about 12 k on my new car, purchased in March). I got my oil changed (not at dealership) at 8K as prescribed, and appreciated the fact the sensor warning (orange wrench) popped up to inform me I was getting closer to needing an oil change. I also reset my warning. At about 11K (3 k into my oil change) the orange wrench lit up again. I have clean, full oil, so I'm not sure what's up. I could reset the oil change feature, but if Iit's no longer in sync with my oil's lifespan, what's the point?

Any suggestions?

Might or might not give you an idea of where to look ...

In the "Maintenance Monitor" section of the setup, on my 2016 CX-5, there are three settings one can set for the maintenance intervals:

Scheduled Maintenance
Tire Rotation
Oil Change

Perhaps one of the other intervals has hit, now.

Myself, I've set each of the three of them to 5Kmi. A bit early on the oil, perhaps, but I like the simplicity of setting them all the same, instead of getting peppered at various intervals.

If your normal oil interval is 8Kmi, but now at 3Kmi more it has hit another interval's indicator, you ought to be able to simply change that indicator to 5Kmi more. Then, in 5Kmi when that indicator notifies you next time, set it to 8Kmi.
