Question Pandora squirrelly

When Pandora works, via a ZTE tracfone, it takes forever to connect with this 2014 CX-5. More often than not, it 'talks' back and forth with the phone, and finally displays an 'unable to connect' message.

Is this fault more likely to be a Tracfone failing or a Pandora one?

I'm no expert on the connectivity thing, but having played Pandora through both a 3g Tracfone and an iPhone 5 in my 2013 CX-5 with standard radio, I think Mazda probably developed the system around more popular hardware like Apple and Samsung. Pandora worked very slowly with the Tracfone and like you would expect it to (ie: no problems) through the iPhone.

Thanks Paris - that's what I suspected. Quite irritating, as some days it bangs right in with no hesitation.

Oh well - the Sirius 4-month free trial has now lasted 7, so can't complain.

Mainiac - Yep, Android problem indeed. But iPhone fees are just too high.....

Mine has been acting up in a 2015 GT with samsung S4. Sometimes it works better if I use bluetooth instead of pandora. I hope that stereo fix gets here soon!

Jayally, I thought (in my ignorance) that Bluetooth was the system whereby Pandora was transferred from phone to car stereo. Perhaps you can clarify for me.

Thanks,

Nick

The later models have Pandora preinstalled in the head unit so you don't have to receive/transmit it through a cell phone. But you can still do it the old way if your resident Pandora app is trouble-prone.

I have the 2015 and it has a button for bluetooth and panadora and they both play pandora but I can also use blue tooth to stream music from my SD card and switch back and forth.

Ah, I see. Annoying when one's 2014 is obsolete by July....!
