Recall CSP05 | Oct 19, 2020 Recall: MMS GOODWILL
I have a 2019 CX-5 GT equipped with the MMS (Mazda Mobile Start).
I went to the Dealer asking what this Recall is about and they told me that the car was equipped with a 3G Cell receiver. Since 3G will be disabled early in 2021 they gave me as an option to switch over to the key fob remote start which I didn't want to start with due to being able to remote start my car when not in sight of the car (Office has a parking garage).
Does anyone know anything about this? Why can't they just replace the 3G module with a 4G or 5G one? I really hate the alternative let alone the fact that I payed extra for the initial option.
AT&T shutdown their 3G back in 2018 followed by Verizon in 2019, I got mine April 2019, so Mazda knew this was going to be an issue.
