Default Replacing front molding

Hi,
I noticed just yesterday somebody hit the front of my vehicle damaging the front passenger side molding in the grill Assy. The part is pretty cheap. Just curious if anyone has attempted to replace one of these and how hard it is?

Actually after inspecting closer it almost looks like its been melted & there is some rubbery residue just below where the two molding pieces line up. I brought the vehicle back to the dealer because the clear shield wasn’t applied well on the front bumper / hood. Do you think they might have “melted” the molding during the application? I don’t know enough about how it’s applied.

Thanks for the feedback.
