Sat Nav Upgrade
#11
The previous owner probably made a new one. My original card died, so I created a new one using a generic card and a backup from my TomTom Home software. It's been working for a couple of years now with no problem.

Conrad,
What year is your CX-5? Because I had the same issue...the car did not recognize the Nav SD card I bought from Amazon. I think that there might be some changes from the 2020s and prior, to the 2021 which I have which meant my car needs a newer version of the software.
So I'll wait a bit and see if there is a newer version that will work.
Thanks for your comments

you have to make sure the sd card you buy online is the same model number as the previous card. i had to go through about 3 sd nav cards till i found the correct model number card. once you have the card you insert it and it boots right up. i didn't need to drive the car or anything. it just booted right up

That was my case at first. I picked a card and it didn't work so I picked another model # card and it worked perfectly. Good thing about amazon is they will let you send it back. Look at the reviews first before buying it. All in all it is wayyyyy cheaper to buy it on Amazon than at mazda or dealership
