I really believe that all comments were helpful in making up my mind. I will use without any fear or hesitation the spare when needed, following the common sense (and Mazda’s cx5 manual) from the majority in this forum. Thanks a lot.

I wasn't debating that at all I was just saying ... well re-read my response. LOL

This is what is wrong many times with forums like this the majority is not always correct and actually often time they get it wrong!
I the best thing you can do is follow the owners manual to the letter unless there is a notification of correction from the auto manufacture.

Peg leg often used by GEAR HEADS and HOT RODDERS refers to a none locking differential. If the differential is locking, limited slip ,posi-traction(posi), Detroit Locker or many other names that depicts both wheel rotating at the same time or same time under torque applied. Then using any tire/wheel combination that is a different diameter on the same axle could cause problems or damage to the differential.
