Are you sure it's 80 MPH and not 80KPH? Be sure speedo is set for Miles instead of Kilometers.

Wild guess.

After some internet searching I found a mention that there is a rod that comes out of the gauges. I always thought that those rods adjusted the brightness of the dash. It mentioned that if it is pressed it will change the speedometer reading from miles per hour to km/h. By pressing it one can switch from m/ph to km/h. Thanks saved me a trip to dealer.

Yep, same thing happened to us after the car came after a paint repair to the door and and front fender, which required removing/disturbing front parking sensors, headlights, cruise control radar, etc. The car came back showing kph instead of mph.

That was my thought, I accidentally changed mine one day. I wondered why the cruise control was weird. Operator error.

It's always fun changing to KPH when you have someone riding with you that is unaware.
Makes it look like I'm tearing up my local twisty road
