Text message won't import with Emoji or Group Text
I have confirmed an issue when receiving text messages which contain emoji, and possibly group texts, which prevent the text messages from being downloaded to the communication module of Mazda Connect.
I called into the Mazda support line to check if they knew of any fix (firmware update possibly), but they said since I am in a 2016.5 CX-5, that most likely I have the most up to date firmware, and they verified that Emoji's are not supported with the text features.
So I urge EVERYONE who has this problem, and likes the text message features as much as I do, but can't get texts when it contains emoji's, please call in and open a ticket. With enough support, Mazda will ask for a fix (isn't this Mazda connect just a third party software anyhow used between multiple Japanese brands?).
I love the text feature, but it is annoying that I can't get a text because of a simple non supported emoji. I would be happy with even a generic character representing an unsupported character, getting the supported characters of the text is what matters.
Thanks!
