Default Tire sizes

My 2015 CX5 Sport AWD has OEM 100H tires on it . Can I run 102T or 102H on it instead ? Thanks!

Please be advised the 100H represents the load rating and speed rating for the tires on your CX-5 and has nothing to do with tire size.

Based upon the way you asked your question, I'm guessing you have one of the two following tire sizes on your CX-5:
  • 225/65 R17
  • 225/55 R19
As for your question, yes, you can run a higher load rated tires (i.e 102), but most manufacturers take a dim view of running lower speed ratings (i.e. T vs. H). Said another way, tires with a rating of 102H are acceptable as a replacement for your factory tires with a 100H rating, however, the 102T rated tires are not.

Have a read of these tables. The load rating weight is per tyre, ie 1/4 of vehicle weight.

In some areas its illegal to run a tyre that's rated lower than the tyre sticker.
