Default Vent issue. Is it normal?

If I set the vent to defrost, air comes out the upper vent at the windshield only. Great. If I set the vent to come into the cabin from the front of the dash, air comes out of those vents and the rear seat vents only. Great. If I set the vent to defrost and feet, air comes out of the vent at the windshield and under the dash. Great. BUT... If I set the vent to feet only, the air continues tocome from the vent at the windshield and under the dash. The only difference is a little less air velocity comes from the vent at windshield and slightly more from the vent under the dash.

Is this normal? I expected switching the vent to feet would open the vent under the dash and close the rest like my other cars have. My feet are cold!

It’s a perceived safety issue, when you need your feet warm if all the air goes under the dash none is available to heat the top half of the interior and help clear the windscreen. Odd perhaps but normal.

Thanks much. But there's a setting for that. Defrost and floor combo. The bad part is that if you get hot feet (common here), the air coming out of the defrost vent ends up causing condensation on the outside of the windshield. I actually noticed a safety warning for this. I guess I'll have to get used to uncomfortable feet or move to a different climate. First car I've had that did this. No wait. There was a Chevrolet that did. I think.
Anyway carpe diem, thanks for taking time to answer. Guess I'll live. Otherwise fun to drive.
