Justin - Welcome to mazdaforum. I hope you are enjoying the CX-5.

What year was the POS Grand Cherokee that you got rid of?

Thanks for the welcome! Mazda forums are new to me, but I have been a member of Subaru and BMW forums for over 10 years. Glad to be trying out a new brand!

As far as the Jeep goes, it was a 2001 with the 4.0L and 120k. I swear, I was fixing something at least once a month on it. Not to mention it got about 15 mpg with mixed driving.

So glad we bought the CX5, it has been great for the few weeks we have owned it . Loving the pearl white too, but I am a sucker for white cars.

Justin - I have a white CX-5 too, paint is holding up well in first 9K miles so far.

The Mazda CX-5 stamped its Kodo design and SkyActiv technology authority all over the Japan 2012 Car of the Year awards, taking the top prize ahead of the Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT 86. It is Mazda's second victory in the last ten years, the 2005 MX-5 claiming the same trophy, and the fourth time the Hiroshima company has won.

The award is decided by 60 local "automotive experts and journalists," and open to any passenger car released in Japan from November 1, 2011 to October 31, 2012 that has sold more than 500 units. Each judge gets 25 votes, his or her top vote getting 10 points, the rest of the points being spread among the judge's choice for the next best four cars.

Day 1 of Mazda ownership and the CX-5 rocks my world!
(Truth be told I really wanted the 2014 6 wagon back in the summer, but well you know the story...)

I knew years ago I should have bought an M3 hatch, but the money was tight so I opted for a good and decent hatch from the Korean peninsula and it has served me well 7 years hence. But alas my fortunes have changed and so has my family and more room was needed, so the CX-5 came to me in a dream days ago and now it sits outside waiting for me to take it out and enjoy the driving experience. I know I'll find any reason to run errands at the drop of the hat :-)

Anyhow it's late and the whiskey has spoken, but I am glad to have a reason to blather.

Default Wondering about adding longer warranty

Wondering if it is worth it to add the extra bumper to bumper warranty after the original 36 month 60,000 mile one expires? $2600 in USA.

Some people swear by them, some don't bother. How much additional time/mileage does $2600 buy a person?
