We have just had a few days of surprisingly cold weather and snow in the UK. My Mazda CX60 Homura air-con and seat heating system pumped out plenty enough to keep us warm over a 80 mile round trip. However, that did have a serious impact on battery range. However, we get only a few such days in southern England, so I don't see it as a longer term issue. However, it might be an issue in some locations (maybe this is one reason why the PHEV CX60 isn't coming to the USA?).
One consequence of the snow blowing into my sensors was that my I-ACTIVESENSE radar and ultrasonic sensors ceased working. But they sprang back into life once the sun returned. I witnessed this on my previous Mercedes, so don't think this unusual. Just another consideration where snow is more of a hazard.
