Check Engine Light

Check Engine Light
I have a 2007 Mazda CX-7 and my check engine light has now come on twice in the last month. The first time the dealership had to replace my gas cap (2nd time since I have had the car, first was due to a recall), and since today is Saturday I will have to wait until Monday to see what the reason is today, I have tightened the fuel cap again to make sure and the light still is on. I had my oil changed at the dealership yesterday, do you think they did something to cause this? I love my CX-7 but am worried that it is going to be a problem car. My sunroof exploded 4 months after I purchased it so I am very worried everything something goes wrong.
help!!
thanks,
Rebecca

RE: Check Engine Light
I went through 2 fuel caps, a new filler neck and 2 computer updates before the light finally stayed out. The dealer should be aware of the fixes for this, I'd jump up and down a little, this isn't a new problem with this car.

RE: Check Engine Light
Never had an issue even with the "defective gas cap"
Just be sure to tighten the gas cap until it clicks a few times before stopping.
Otherwise a vapor leak will cause the ECU to throw a CEL.
If you are doing this and still getting the CELs, I would insure all updates and the recall has been done.
Mine has never thrown a CEL in almost 2 years. If you are still having trouble are there other symptoms of a problem with the engine when you drive it? If so tell us, if not I would try taking it to another dealer...
