CX7 Cranks but Won’t start - low fuel pressure
2010 CX7
Diesel Turbo 2.2L
We are in Australia
Vehicle lost acceleration on a freeway, then wouldn’t start again. Plugged it into the computer and realised that we had no fuel passing through and a timing chain code was registering.
Replace the High pressure fuel pump with a second hand pump
Replaced the timing chain.
Car cranked and started for approximately 2secs, then stalled. Checked the fuel pressure which is currently at 6psi, this reading was taken from the fuel pressure sensor which is on the rail.
My understanding is that this should be around 1600psi.
We are in the process of getting a replacement second hand fuel pump incase this is the cause of the problem.
Fuel is flowing from the tank to pump freely and doesn’t seem to have any restrictions
New fuel filter installed.
Car cranks but still doesnt start..
Any suggestions? has anyone else experienced anything like this that may be able to help us navigate why we aren’t getting fuel pressure?
Thanks
